Located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, the plant became part of BHEL in year 1976 after acquisition of Radio and Electrical Manufacturing Company (REMCO). Its core products include Control equipment and systems, converter/ invertor (power electronic systems), propulsion systems, space-grade Li-ion batteries, space-grade solar panels etc which are being designed and manufactured here to support Power Sector and other Industries. The plant also hosts CoE for Control & Instrumentation and CoE for Power Electronics, IGBT & Controller Technology.

Located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, the plant became part of BHEL in year 1976 after acquisition of Mysore Porcelains Limited (MPL). Its core products include insulators for transmission & distribution, composite insulators, ceramic liners, railway safety system, Solar PV cell & modules etc which are designed and manufactured here to support Power Sector and other Industries. The plant also hosts Ceramic Technological Institute.

Located in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, the plant was established in year 1956 under the company Heavy Electricals (Private) Limited which was later merged with BHEL in 1974. Its core products include hydro turbine & generator, steam turbines, condensers & heat exchangers, power transformers, industrial & traction motors, switchgear etc which are designed and manufactured here to support Power Sector and other Industries. The plant also hosts Centre for Electric Transportation – world class testing centre for electric transportation.

Located in Goindwal, Punjab, the plant was established in year 1983-84. Its core products include valves for power plants as well as industrial applications etc which are designed and manufactured here to support Power Sector and other Industries.

The plant also hosts Pollution Control Research Institute.

Located in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, the plant was established in year 1965. It is one of the first out of the three manufacturing plants of BHEL. Its core products include steam generators for coal based power plant and industrial usage, steam generators for Nuclear Power plants etc which are designed and manufactured here supporting Power Sector and other Industries. The plant also hosts CoE for Coal Research, CoE for Advanced Fabrication Technology and Welding Research Institute (WRI) – the leading welding research institution in India.
