Shri Shiv Pal Singh assumed charge of the post of Chief Vigilance Officer in BHEL w.e.f. 21.06.2022. He holds Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Master’s Degree in Thermal Engineering, both from IIT Delhi. He has also studied public policy at University of California, Berkeley.
Shri Shiv Pal Singh is an officer of the 1997 batch of Indian Forest Service borne on Uttar Pradesh Cadre. He has a diverse experience of working in various fields of governance. At the core of his profession, he handled the forest and wildlife management, enforcement and administration at the district level in his cadre, Uttar Pradesh. He was posted in the Tourism department in the State as Special Secretary and also headed the UP State Tourism Development Corporation as its Managing Director. He has gained experience of running the externally aided projects funded by the agencies like JICA, World Bank and GEF.
At the national level, he worked in the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change where he handled the wildlife portfolio including the Wildlife Division and the National Tiger Conservation Authority as well as the Forest Conservation Division. He has worked in the urban sector in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, where he managed the flagship mission on basic urban services, the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation for major part of the mission period.
